Aloe Sketches

This aloe blossom came from the garden this afternoon. I put the smallest of my three Kenko extension tubes onto my 60mm Nikon Macro lens so that I could get in closer than normal.
I used my SB600 in a softbox to the left of the camera, with no reflector. The shutter speed of 1/180 second was fast enough that there is no ambient light in the picture. Aperture was f22 for depth of field. The strobe was triggered by the pop up flash on my D90 in commander mode.
